• Tubbs Jones Supports Affordable Housing Stimulus Tax Package

  Washington, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH) voted in support of the Housing Assistance Tax Act of 2008 during a Ways and Means Committee hearing. The legislation will help offer stability to the housing market while assisting families in the purchase of their first home and improving access to affordable housing through tax credits to first-time homebuyers, temporary increases to the low-income housing tax credit, the elimination of costs imposed on housing programs by the alternative minimum tax, encouraging the rehabilitation of certain buildings as well as other provisions.
